SANDFEST PHOTO CONTEST RULES

 

Rules:

 1. Sculptures (First, Second, and Third Place)
    Additionally there will be a prize for the Funniest Photo, Best Pet Photo, Best People Photo and Best Photo taken by a youth.

 2. All photos must have been taken by the person submitting the entry and must have been taken at SandFest 2009 (April 17, 18, 19, 2009 ). They can be of anything at the event, such as the sand sculptures, sculptors working, the people, beach...

 3. All photos must have been taken from outside the protected boundaries of the sculpture’s plots.  In other words, you can not go inside the plot lines to take photos.

 4. Photos become the property of SandFest and can not be returned so keep your negatives.

 5. The Master Sculptors are busy trying to complete their work before their deadline so please do not distract them nor ask them to pose.

 6. There is a $2 entry fee for each photo entered.  Make checks payable to SandFest.  

 7. Photos can be no larger than 5" x 7.”  

We prefer photos to be sent electronically as an attachment with email to:TexasSandFest@yahoo.com. 

Type your name and the names of the photos. You will still need to send in the registration form and the $2 entry fee per photo submitted.

 8. Awards:  Certificates and cash prizes will be awarded.
    
    Third Place: certificate

    Second Place: $20 and certificate

    First Place: $30 and certificate

    Funniest Photo: $20 and certificate

    Best "Pet" Photo: $20 and certificate

    Best "People" Photo: $20 and certificate

    Best Photo taken by a youth:  $20 and certificate

  9. All Judge’s decisions are final.

10. Photographers must submit a note with their entries describing each.

11.  Entries may be emailed to texassandfest@ yahoo.com along with your name, address and the catagory.  Then mail your entry fee  with your name and address to the following address.  They MUST BE POST MARKED BY MAY 5, 2009!

12. Winners will be announced May 15 and will be on our web site at www.TexasSandFest.com.    It is easier to get the photos on the website if you send an email.

Great contest!  We want to thank everyone who entered.  Your entry fees help SandFest and your photos allow us to create an incredible photo book which will be on display at all future SandFests.  It is always exciting to see SandFest from so many different camera lens.  One group of people who love to see the photo contest entries is our Master Sculptors.  They love to see their work through your eyes.

There are always a ton of great photos so our judges have a hard time.  Besides the winners, they award several Honorable Mentions.  Thanks again for all the entries.  The photos will be enjoyed for years to come.
