We had this great idea to add a DUO competition to SandFest (two-person
teams)...but we needed $4,000 for the prize money. We had sculptors
entering the DUOs and had already advertised it. Adding the DUOs was going
to make SandFest even bigger and better...but with less than two months before
SandFest we still hadn't found a sponsor. Thankfully, a few supporters of
SandFest asked if they could pitch in and cover the prize money. They
formed "Friends Of SandFest" and we are very pleased to have their
help. They are asking that new members donate a minimum of $50 and the "Friends Of SandFest" hope to be in place to be
able to step in whenever the festival needs a sponsorship covered.
"Friends" get a free event T-shirt and certificate.
